SIP – SME

A tested tool supporting ongoing innovation process management and cooperation between SMEs and research organisations.

The developed and tested SIP tool provides methodological support for ongoing innovation process management in SMEs. It connects SMEs and research organisations regionally and across regions to use innovation opportunities. SMEs from both regions participate in pilot testing and refinement.

Background

Growing global competition requires companies to continuously expand and update products and services. Innovation opportunities exist in both regions but are only partly used. Previous projects showed that well-designed cooperation between South Bohemian and Upper Austrian businesses and research organisations can create beneficial synergies.

The project focuses on SMEs, whose participation in research, development and innovation is relatively low compared with large companies.

Objectives

Strengthen support for innovation process management in SMEs on both sides of the border.

  • Create an innovation process services tool (SIP).
  • Pilot and refine it with SMEs.
  • Create a publicly available online software platform for using it.
