Smart Accelerator in South Bohemia

The project connects individual regional innovation support tools into an effective innovation system providing comprehensive support for the innovation environment.

The Smart Accelerator call develops innovation environments in Czech regions using the National Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialisation and relevant regional annexes, enabling effective management of entrepreneurial discovery.

This process involves business, academia and the public sector and builds on each region's strengths, entrepreneurship and competitive advantages. Smart specialisation can unlock economic transformation through modernisation, diversification and radical innovation.

Activities

• Core team: Establish an implementation team to operate the new regional innovation system.
• Education: Develop the team's and regional stakeholders' expertise in key areas.
• Mapping: Continuously analyse and monitor the innovation environment, identify new opportunities and sectors, and support regional competitiveness.
• Assistance: Support public institutions preparing strategic projects through a regional grant programme.
• Twinning: Transfer good practice from two foreign institutions and prepare two implementation manuals adapting it to South Bohemia.
• Promotion: Develop a fresh regional image and implement a marketing and communication strategy promoting innovation potential.
