VReduMED
VReduMED improves cooperation between healthcare education and medical technology suppliers, particularly SMEs and start-ups, using virtual reality to enrich healthcare student education, upskill care professionals, support MedTech assistance systems and initiate demand-driven MedTech development. It aims to make care work more attractive and ensure high-quality services in the future.
The project builds on VReduNET (ATCZ256), which explores VR/AR in education. Ten partners from five Central European countries – Czechia, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary and Germany – reflect shared challenges in care and healthcare education. The partnership includes healthcare higher education institutions, clusters with MedTech and IT company networks, an economic institute and a specialist educational research organisation.
Key strategic outputs are a roadmap for VR in MedTech products and services and a handbook for integrating VR into care education. A transnational care education forum will guide cooperation between care specialists, MedTech companies and VR experts.
Three VR laboratories will host demonstrations and usability tests. Six pilot actions test different VR uses through co-creation innovation workshops and transnational hackathons. More than 90 organisations will participate alongside care students and teachers.
Partners will jointly identify innovative project concepts for VR-based care solutions. After the project, partners will continue supporting 25 organisations developing these solutions.
