Cross-Border Idea & Startup Contest
A unique opportunity to put ideas into practice, support development and respond to current social challenges, with support from the Upper Austrian Government and the South Bohemian Region.
The final of the third Cross-Border Idea & Start-up Contest takes place on Wednesday, 30 April 2025 in Linz, with significant media support for all the competing ideas presented.
Competition rules
There are two categories:
- START-UP: Companies established no more than five years ago, offering innovative products or services that can support regional development and create new value for society or communities.
- IDEA: Promising new business ideas or project proposals pursuing the same aims, without a legal entity yet established to implement them, but with the potential to create an independent business.
Participants
The competition is for business ideas from Upper Austria and South Bohemia. Participating projects must have a registered office or premises in one of these regions, or intend to establish one during the initial business start-up phase.
Prizes
The winner of each category receives EUR 10,000 to launch their business. A further EUR 10,000 is available to the project with the greatest potential for cross-border cooperation. Three prizes of EUR 10,000 await the winners.
